Description
Clover Moon lives in a dirty, dilapidated alley in Victorian London, sharing a small house with six younger siblings, a tired father and his conceited, domineering second wife. Intelligent and eager to learn, Clover loves drawing, cares for her sister Megs and her step-siblings, and invents entertainment for the children in the whole street. Despite her talent, she is condemned to hard, monotonous factory work, until a chance meeting with a painter gives her a glimpse of another world and inspires her to imagine that she might one day live in it. Jacqueline Wilson returns to the Victorian era in this story, as she did in her successful Hetty Feather series. The novel is intended for girls aged ten to fourteen. The book is in Czech.
