The textbook introduces the legal regulation of selected sectors and sub-sectors of public administration – including internal administration, education management, business, construction management, cultural administration, healthcare, police, mining and geology, and the legal framework for national defense. The fourth edition has been enriched with the highly discussed issues of digitalization and e-government.

This edition, prepared according to the state as of January 1, 2025, reflects key updates in legal regulations across various sectors as well as new case law from administrative courts.

The interpretation is primarily focused on the valid Czech legal regulations in selected areas, which are presented in the context of historical development and also in relation to constitutional, international, and European contexts. Current case law is an integral part of the interpretation. Thus, the book provides readers with a comprehensive view of the given issues.

Each chapter includes a definition of the sources of legal regulation, explanations of basic concepts and institutions, and an outline of the organization of public administration performance in the respective area. The publication focuses primarily on those areas of public administration where citizens and legal entities are most in contact with administrative authorities.
