Description
Disinformation is one of the most discussed concepts in contemporary human society. Although it has existed in every historical period, there has been an unprecedented spread of it in the first decades of this century. This increase is closely related to the dynamic development of modern information and communication technologies, systems, and devices.
Despite the potential of disinformation to significantly influence political, economic, social, or security events, academic interest in this phenomenon has surprisingly been quite limited for a long time, and few initiatives have attempted to create a coherent theoretical framework for understanding it. For this reason, the author of the monograph contributes to the developing academic discourse on disinformation and clarifies this increasingly common phenomenon in modern information society through interdisciplinary scientific research.
The monograph is intended for readers from the academic community, research field, practitioners, and other interested parties in the issue of disinformation.
