A part of the state's housing policy is social support for individuals in realizing their right to housing, whether in the form of ensuring affordable housing or financial assistance with housing costs. ***** The monograph focuses on social benefits intended to provide assistance to households and families with covering housing costs (rent, energy supply advances, and service fees), specifically the housing allowance, housing supplement, and their mutual relationship, additionally addressing the extraordinary immediate assistance benefit related to securing housing. ***** These housing benefits have been a long-term component of the social system of the Czech Republic. They can respond to low or zero incomes, including their fluctuations in relation to the actual costs of housing. ***** The monograph thoroughly analyzes how housing benefits are able to cover the current pressing social situation of individuals and households in the event of sudden changes in society causing either a rapid increase in energy prices or a decrease in real incomes due to various socioeconomic crises, whether it is the current energy crisis or other societal crises (economic, pandemic, etc.).
