Praktikum z práva sociálního zabezpečení – Halířová Gabriela (2022)

This Czech-language study aid for university courses in social security law presents the subject clearly according to the individual social security systems and explains their key institutions. The sixth edition has been updated to reflect the law as of 1 September 2022. Its chapters cover the individual subsystems of social security, including sickness, pension and health insurance, the payment of contributions, the powers and responsibilities of social security authorities, decisions on individual benefits, state social support and social assistance. Particular attention is given to the position of self-employed people within the social security system, and a new chapter deals with European social security law. Each chapter begins by outlining the issue, identifying its central problems and citing the relevant sources of law. It then presents model examples with detailed solutions, references to legislation and a brief analysis of the legal terms used, followed by exercises and tasks for independent practice. Based on typical situations from everyday life, the examples develop students’ ability to interpret and apply the relevant legislation. Review questions conclude each chapter. The practical guide is also intended for teachers and employees of public administration, helping them navigate social security law and find possible solutions to problems arising in practice.
