The publication maps the overall development of the file service in the Czech Republic, detailing the period from 2004 to the present. The introductory part discusses the legal regulations directly related to the field of file service or closely associated with it. It also places the development in the context of European legislation, particularly concerning the eIDAS Regulation and GDPR. The core content of the publication is a detailed analysis of all stages of file service performance from the receipt of documents, through their registration, distribution, circulation, and processing of documents, to the preparation of documents, their signing and sending, and finally to their disposal in the shredding process or outside of it. The electronic shredding process and its connections to the national digital archive are also described. Necessary control mechanisms are not overlooked. The publication discusses various aspects of document storage, both analog and digital. The issue of creating a file order and implementing both traditional and digital file management is addressed separately. Selected types of documents are also mentioned, including the relevant legal regulations.
