The guide comprehensively addresses the issue of inheritance and probate proceedings according to the current regulations of both substantive and procedural law. A separate section of the publication is dedicated to the international aspects of inheritance law. The substantive law section deals with the prerequisites for inheritance (the death of the testator, the existence of an estate, the capacity of the heir), the possibility of renouncing an inheritance, inheritance from a new title – inheritance agreements, as well as statutory inheritance in individual inheritance classes, testamentary inheritance, including wills with concessions, estate administration, confirmation of inheritance, and the protection of the rightful heir. Special attention is given to new institutions of inheritance law, namely executors of wills, legacies, trust succession, new legal acts of the testator for the event of death (a codicil, a marital property agreement in which spouses also arrange property matters for the case of marriage termination by death, so-called negative wills, agreements on renunciation of inheritance rights, waiving inheritance, agreements on the alienation of inheritance), the prerequisites for their validity, and their substantive and formal requirements.
