In the second revised and supplemented edition of the monograph, the authors, who are professionally engaged in legal history, present the history of legal education and legal science at the Faculty of Law of the historic Trnava University during its 110-year existence in the ancient free royal town of Trnava from 1667 to 1777. In their monograph, they focus on the functioning of the faculty, the presentation of the teaching process with the innovative inclusion of the teaching of domestic (Hungarian) law, the transformation of the content focus of legal studies, the activities of individual professors of the faculty, and the presentation of their most significant works along with excerpts from them. They offer a view of the changes in Hungarian legal education under the influence of new Enlightenment theories and the inclusion of new subjects in legal studies (natural law). Since 1998, the renewed Faculty of Law of Trnava University in Trnava has been trying to connect not only with the cultural and educational heritage presented in the monograph of the historical Faculty of Law in Trnava.
