Primarily, whether stress affects the performance of a judge's duties, and if so, to what extent and under what conditions it can lead to burnout. Furthermore, what measures can be taken from the perspective of the Ministry of Justice, judicial management, and especially the judges themselves to minimize stress-inducing factors in judicial activities and to prevent the onset of burnout syndrome, and how can judges themselves manage negative stress during their demanding role and avoid burnout. Finally, whether, and to what extent, positive stress can have an impact on improving judicial performance, and what role judicial officials and judges (leading their mini-teams) play in this regard. The author, a judge of the Supreme Court of the Czech Republic, attempts to find answers to these questions (with reference to the expert conclusions of psychologists and psychiatrists) in the book. He does not shy away from critical views of the justice system and presents specific cases from the judicial environment to illuminate the subject matter.
