Psaní a prezentace odborných textů – Široký Jan (2019)

The publication introduces the formal and content requirements for writing bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and other qualification theses, as well as professional articles. After defining scientific methods, it presents the characteristics of a scientific paper, describes citation standards, and possible sources of data and indicators for creating professional texts. The book highlights spelling rules where mistakes are most commonly made, such as abbreviations and punctuation marks. It also advises on how to properly incorporate graphs or images into the text. A special section is dedicated to the specifics of writing professional legal texts, particularly legal language and terminology, legal argumentation, and interpretation of the law. Furthermore, the publication familiarizes readers with the possibilities of publishing in professional journals and the evaluation of research and development in the Czech Republic. The book also provides practical advice for communication (verbal, non-verbal) and successful presentation of professional work results in the form of public speaking. Another chapter addresses ethics as an indispensable part of scientific activity. The complexity of the publication is enhanced by appendices, which include excerpts from the copyright law and government legislative rules, directories of scientific fields according to RIV, and more.
