Description
The author, a prominent Czech politician and political scientist, has been lecturing since 1994 at the Faculty of Law in Prague on the historical contexts of specific political phenomena and, of course, on what he has experienced in real politics – at the peaks of executive power and then legislative power. The reader should not seek a complete political science textbook in these scripts (recorded lectures), but rather a concentrated, passionate argumentation – a warning against the decline of public space. Previously against great ideologies, today against the rising waves of new populism and nationalism. Thus, there are again increasing numbers of conscious and involuntary enemies of politics. The author has struggled with these for most of his life – and has not always been on the side of the winners. It is not yet won and will never be: this is why, not for the enrichment of political science as an attempt at a science, the author has decided to reconstruct nearly a quarter of a century of his speaking to students.
