The publication clearly and understandably introduces the obligation of maintenance within the family, as well as, for example, between divorced spouses or other relatives, all after the enactment of Act No. 89/2012 Coll., the Civil Code. It contains an overview of all types of maintenance obligations, an interpretation of the recommended 'tables' for calculating alimony, and answers to the most frequently asked questions that lawyers are often posed regarding the issue of alimony. The author highlights the most important judgments and decision-making trends of Czech courts. The text also discusses a new institution – the right to support. For completeness, it provides not only the current legal regulation of alimony according to the Civil Code but also excerpts from the Registered Partnership Act and the Criminal Code. The next part of the manual describes the court proceedings regarding alimony, including the enforcement of decisions.
