Zákon o mediaci – Grygar Jiří (2014)

The latest commentary on the mediation law is prepared according to the legal status as of January 1, 2014, thus responding to changes related to the recodification of civil law (the new Civil Code, the harmonization amendment to the Civil Procedure Code, the law on special court proceedings, and others). It contains a consistent and detailed interpretation focused on practical problems in the application of the mediation law and related laws, with an emphasis not only on substantive law but primarily on procedural law. The book serves as a judicial and academic commentary in which the author applies their judicial profession and also their involvement in the preparation of the mediation law. Therefore, the aim of this commentary is to be objectively critical and practical. It is critical in the sense that it will not only provide reflections in the form of paraphrases of the law text but will also mention shortcomings and potential weak points. It is practical in that if it points out something, it will attempt to explain why and possibly how to address the issue. Instead of amendments to related regulations contained in the mediation law as adopted, the book offers commentary on related regulations in their current wording, namely provisions of the Civil Procedure Code, the law on special court proceedings, and other regulations.
