Description
In the eleventh volume of Battles and Fates of Warriors, the stories of the wars of the French Revolution continue with the second part. It describes further battles with the First Anti-French Coalition both in Germany and Italy, where the young Napoleon Bonaparte achieved victories, and continues with the war against the Second Anti-French Coalition. This began with defeats for France in Germany at Ostrach and Stockach, as well as in Italy at Trebbia and Novi. France lost everything that Bonaparte had previously gained, but then General Masséna managed to win the Second Battle of Zurich against the Russo-Austrian forces and also repelled Marshal Suvorov, who was attacking across the Alps. At the same time, General Brune defended the Dutch coast against a British-Russian invasion. Bonaparte, who became the First Consul after the coup of 18 Brumaire, defeated the Austrians at the Italian Marengo, and General Moreau victoriously concluded the war with the Second Coalition at the Bavarian Hohenlinden.
