Description
The second and final part (1916-1918) of the extensive, gripping narrative about the lives, battles, and deaths of members of the German Imperial Navy during World War I again focuses on all the most significant events in the North Sea, including many U-boat actions. We will spend a long time in the Battle of Jutland in 1916; but this time the book will also take us aboard His Majesty's Auxiliary Cruiser WOLF, which reaches as far as Australia on its combat mission. From there, it successfully returns to German Kiel, and we will also experience the revolutionary movement in the Imperial Navy, which culminates in a mutiny, crucial for the further development of the German state. Once again, we will be present at meetings of Emperor Wilhelm II with admirals, and we will get to know life in the German rear... Of course, we will also experience the fateful moments of the main characters of our narrative - sailor Jan Walden and his friends. And again: For those friends of naval warfare history who are not satisfied with just dry facts and tabular overviews, but want to learn much about the living essence of naval warfare in the years 1914-1918, this book is a welcome contribution. We believe that once you finish reading it, you will return to it again and again.
