The first volume of the project Battles and Fates of Warriors continues from the tetralogy Knightly Battles and Fates, focusing on the year 1526 and the Battle of Mohács, in which the Czech and Hungarian King Louis Jagellon died. It continues through the wars of Christians with Muslims and Catholics with Protestants, the defense of Malta, the Battle of Lepanto, the destruction of the Spanish Armada, and the religious war in France, depicting the life stories of several great warriors, including the Ottoman admiral Hayreddin Barbarossa, the tragic fate of Count Egmont, and the life of the Duke of Alba, the greatest Spanish military leader.
