It continues through the wars of Christians with Muslims and Catholics with Protestants, the defense of Malta, the Battle of Lepanto, the destruction of the Spanish Armada, and the religious war in France, depicting the life stories of several great warriors, including the Ottoman admiral Hayreddin Barbarossa, the tragic fate of Count Egmont, and the life of the Duke of Alba, the greatest Spanish military leader.
