Description
The author describes three months of her childhood spent in the hospital. After suffering from a bout of angina, she developed myocarditis. She found herself in a three-bed ward with fellow patients who were similarly afflicted. The author remarkably depicts how sick children, who have no idea of the insidiousness of illness, view the nurses, doctors, and their teacher. She does not hide the fact that this is her own story.
