Description
The book is dedicated to the development of attention and executive functions from early childhood to adulthood. Executive functions serve to manage one's own behavior, i.e., for self-regulation and for handling various activities, especially when it is necessary to resist something more tempting. These functions develop significantly during preschool age, and without reaching an acceptable level, a child would struggle to cope with starting school. Their deficit is also evident in children with ADHD. The publication provides an overview of various methods for measuring attention and individual executive functions, including illustrative examples. Brief content: - Structural and functional components of the brain - Brain development - Attention - Executive functions - Development of executive functions - Development of self-regulation and control of emotional expressions - ADHD syndrome
