Asistent pedagoga v mateřské škole – Martinovská Petra, Němec Zbyněk (2020)

The publication provides a comprehensive view of the role of a teaching assistant in a kindergarten, covering all its specifics, starting from the successful selection and introduction of the teaching assistant to the kindergarten, through their methodological support, to defining the job description of the teaching assistant. The authors further address the question of how to optimally create collaboration between the teacher and the teaching assistant, such as how to divide their competencies or how to define communication. They do not overlook the mistakes that can occur during the collaboration of both workers and which are good to avoid. A separate chapter is dedicated to the teaching assistant's work with a child with special educational needs, including the characteristics of suitable support for children with various types of disadvantages. The question of collaboration, especially the communication of the teaching assistant with the children's parents, is also addressed. The theoretical information is supplemented with examples from the practice of kindergartens.
