Description
The book is intended for a broader audience and attempts to answer the question of what wisdom is. Right at the beginning, we find a whole range of definitions of wisdom. All agree that it is not something uniform. Perception and understanding of wisdom are influenced by age, experiences; women perceive it differently than men, and artists, philosophers, or economists have different perspectives. Also, an individual's wisdom differs from the wisdom of the crowd. A clear answer is not provided by literature either, as the recorded history of wisdom is as old as the history of civilization. While we have wise sayings and reflections from Sumer, Egypt, ancient Greece, the Bible, the Quran, the Talmud, and the results of today's discussions, we have only one certainty: studying these sources means a lifelong endeavor. The book also includes the author's proposal for a definition of wisdom, into which he inserted hope. He considers wisdom to be a journey that – as long as people are people – will never end. This journey has no peak either, as the world is constantly changing...
