Michaela Janík is primarily known as a songwriter from the folk duo Paleček & Janík, whose songs Hele lidi, Kukátko, Hruška, and others have not aged even after half a century. Michael is also the author of the lyrics for several hits by Věra Martinová and Pavel Bobek. The song Lásko, mě ubývá sil is known by almost everyone in our country, but few know its authors. For his seventy-seventh birthday, Michael Janík gifted himself a literary debut titled Poezie starého písničkáře, in which he included one hundred and fifty of his poems and verses, because, as he himself says, "... poems are a good recipe for a good mood. Give it a try."
