Description
The monograph is dedicated to the rare genetically conditioned disease Darier's disease (keratosis follicularis). The disease is strongly influenced by environmental factors; in addition to the dominant skin involvement, it can affect other organs and may be accompanied by a number of complications and comorbidities. The text offers a comprehensive view of the issue: it summarizes the history, epidemiology, clinical picture, segmental and atypical forms, dermatoscopy, etiopathogenesis, differential diagnosis, and current therapeutic options for Darier's disease. Causal treatment is not known; however, with appropriate regimen measures and the adjustment of available therapy, there can be a significant improvement in the quality of life, which is reduced in patients due to the nature of the disease.
