The monograph Eye Infections provides a comprehensive overview of the issue of eye infections, addressing both causative pathogens and diagnostics, as well as treatment. The general section offers a quick overview of diagnostic methods, preventive measures, and therapeutic options. For a complete perspective, there are also sections dedicated to immunology, microbiology, and pharmacology. The special section - Infections of the Eye Tissues - then describes infections in detail according to individual periocular and ocular regions. This section is divided into periocular infections and infections of the orbit and tear ducts, conjunctival infections, corneal, scleral, and episcleral infections, as well as infections of the anterior and posterior uvea and the optic nerve. The final chapter focuses on endophthalmitis, a deep infection of the entire eye. Each chapter includes a detailed description of eye pathology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic options, therapy, and possibly prognosis and prevention specific to that unit. The book is designed to be used in everyday work in outpatient clinics and hospitals, but will also serve other interested medical professionals.
