Pediatric neurology is experiencing a dynamic and simultaneously beautiful period of revolutionary advances in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases, many of which until recently had no known cause or were considered untreatable, or both. This development in medical science has necessitated a complete revision of previous editions of the textbook on pediatric neurology from 2000 and 2008, along with a fundamental reworking and supplementation with new, current findings and information. The publication Basics of Pediatric Neurology is intended for both medical students and a wide range of individuals interested in the issues of central and peripheral nervous system diseases in childhood. The organizers are aware that its scope is not such that it can be considered a complete textbook on pediatric neurology. Nevertheless, they are convinced that it can be useful and helpful to all specialists active in this field.
