Description
The fourth edition of Vojtěch Klimt's book "Just That They Killed My Dad" tells the life story of the singer-songwriter and poet Karel Kryl. The author based his writing not only on thorough research of all available printed and manuscript sources and a deep familiarity with Kryl's recordings but also on dozens of personal interviews with Kryl's relatives, friends, and acquaintances, as well as from his own experiences from meetings with Karel Kryl. Thus, his book is the result of nearly thirty years of intense engagement with Kryl's personality and work, while maintaining a factual narrative style based solely on verified facts. The book includes careful listings of Kryl's works and explanatory notes. Valuable are the dozens of unique photographs that uniquely bring closer the life and work of one of the most significant figures in our culture in the second half of the twentieth century.
