Description
"Without Neruda and Čapek, our world would be not only much less interesting and entertaining but in every way worse, because we ourselves would be worse too. And so even today, in the twenty-first century, I find at least one good reason to continue writing columns, essays, and short stories." These are the words of cardiologist Josef Veselka from the introductory text of his third book "The Great Visit." In it, he comments on current events, difficult-to-understand social phenomena, as well as various twists of human nature. And mainly the situations he encounters daily in his medical profession. "Neruda with his famous essays or Čapek with his even more famous columns or short stories would still be relevant today," the author points out. It can be expected that his observations will not lose any of their relevance over the years. The columns and stories are complemented by illustrations from journalist and stand-up comedian Miloš Čermák.
