Description
Until the end is out of sight is a collection of five interviews conducted by Ivan Dvořák between 1989 and 2013 with his Jewish relatives and acquaintances. Five witnesses born in the early twentieth century begin their memories in the period before World War II. They mostly experienced it as members of assimilated Jewish families, who did not differ much from ordinary Czechoslovaks. With the arrival of Hitler and his monstrous plan for the 'final solution to the Jewish question,' their fates change dramatically: transports to Terezín and then further east... The second part of the book consists of the memoir text by Josef Weiner, It Started in Podskalí, in which he vividly describes the same horrific years. Many testimonies about the Holocaust have been written, but there will never be enough. So that we do not forget. Never!
