Description
The book Photographs That Play presents images from two dozen photographers who are currently among the busiest in the field of music photography in our country. Editor Ondřej Bezr has taken on a challenging task: to showcase the work of authors capturing music, its atmosphere, spirit, and message through photography. He ultimately reached out to those whose photographic contributions have appeared in the media he has written for over nearly thirty years. Among the authors, we find both professionals and amateurs – photographers who earn their living doing something else, but this is certainly not evident in the results of their work. Some prefer large stages and global stars, while others favor small clubs and more alternative genres. Each photographer is a unique personality. The only thing they all share is a love for music and a desire to capture it through the lens of their camera. Each was given the same assignment: to select ten photographs they wish to present in this book and to contribute a short biographical text about themselves. The book also includes a concluding essay by Josef Chuchma on photographing music in our country.
