Description

The term Diary of a Lonely Runner first appeared in the magazine Melodie in the early 1980s. Under this title, František Ringo Čech described his observations from the life of a musician. After thirty years, he returned to the title and began publishing diary entries on his website. The first part covers the entire year of 2012 and is being published in book form for the first time. The next volume will bring diaries from 2013 to 2015. The book is not intended solely as a report on the state of the Union for the guard. On the contrary, it is addressed to all those interested in the Master's life and work. The reader gradually and intimately learns what the Renaissance artist is working on, what problems he is solving, what troubles him, or conversely, what excites him. Ringo's diary entries are a rich mosaic of memories, comments, reactions, reflections, images, praises, and complaints about the artistic and political world, including family. Figures from the musical, political, artistic, television, theatrical, and purely private life parade before the reader, and thanks to Ringo's sincerity, the reader quickly understands whether these are admirable, significant personalities, or the opposite. Perhaps, as the author himself notes in the introduction, you will be pleased by the memory of old times and good people. He also writes about scoundrels, but thankfully there are more good people!
