Description
Chest traumatology, i.e., the diagnosis and treatment of chest injuries, is one of the fundamental areas of traumatology and surgery as a whole. In Europe, chest injuries account for every second death in traffic accidents, and abroad, they are even the second most common cause of fatal injury overall. For many years, there has been a lack of a comprehensive monograph in our country that would cover both the basics of the field and new diagnostic and treatment procedures. A collective of authors from Plzeň and Prague has prepared a modern publication that reflects the needs of the field, fills one of the gaps in the market for professional literature, and has the potential to become a sought-after aid in studying the issues of chest traumatology. In this practically conceived and richly illustrated monograph, both undergraduate students and especially surgical and trauma surgery postgraduate students will find essential information necessary for understanding and successfully managing the care of patients with chest injuries.
