Exercise in fitness centers is today the most widespread targeted structured physical activity. Its benefits in the area of health-oriented fitness are indisputable, and therefore experts should devote appropriate attention to it. This publication addresses the methodology of exercise in fitness centers with an emphasis on kinesiological foundations. The author bases her approach on knowledge of physiotherapy, including its practical application in the field of fitness, and seeks to create a concept of strength exercises designed for the general population with minimal risk of health damage, while respecting a holistic approach to the individual and providing a broad health-preventive effect. Since the second edition of this publication, there have been many changes in the fitness field. A clear trend, especially in large cities, is the increase in the area of fitness centers and the expansion of their offerings. In light of these trends, the author has supplemented the text with chapters dedicated to some new types of exercises and enriched existing chapters with additional detailed information, as well as appendices. This publication has thus become a monograph offering a comprehensive overview of the subject matter and professionally evaluating current fitness practices.
