Lower back pain is one of the most commonly occurring conditions. Patients with this pain often gradually visit a number of doctors from various specialties in hopes of finding help. Therefore, the presented monograph provides a comprehensive view of this issue. The editor intentionally requested expert thematic contributions from representatives of all interested medical specialties. The frequency of lower back pain confirms that it is a globally significant problem, not only medically but also socio-economically. Moreover, treatment outcomes are not as clear-cut in the case of the lower back as they are for conditions affecting most other anatomical areas of the musculoskeletal system, and they are also accompanied by a higher percentage of complications. The monograph is intended for orthopedic surgeons, surgeons, and traumatologists, as well as diagnosticians, neurologists, and physiotherapists dealing with musculoskeletal injuries.
