Description
It is April 30, 1951. Secret police arrive for Pastor Jan Bula in Rokytnice in the Třebíč region. He faces a journey to the interrogation room in Jihlava, cruel torture, and execution in May 1952. The same fate awaits Pastor Václav Drbola, who will also be brutally tortured beforehand. Drbola is arrested on June 17, 1951, at the rectory in Babice. It is a fateful place; right next door is a school where armed men will break in a few weeks later and shoot three local officials. Although both Drbola and Bula are already in prison at the time of the tragedy, they will be tried for the attack. Along with others: more than a hundred will ultimately be convicted, eleven of whom will receive the death penalty. In September 2011, the process for the beatification of Václav Drbola and Jan Bula was initiated. The publication is accompanied by a rich visual supplement.
