Description
Britt-Marie is a sixty-three-year-old woman who has been told that she is passive-aggressive, slow and a whining old hag. After forty years of marriage, she leaves the city and her unfaithful husband. The financial crisis has hit Borg, leaving behind only For Sale signs and a pizzeria that smells of beer. Britt-Marie hates football, which is the only thing left in Borg, so this hardly seems like the beginning of a beautiful friendship. But when Borg’s youth football team needs a coach so desperately that it decides to accept anyone, details such as the fact that she really, really does not want the job do not matter. This novel is about what it means to have prejudices, putting cutlery away in the right order, and the nature beside the road. It is a story about second chances, first kick-offs and the fact that soda can clean almost anything.
