Description
Emil Juliš (1920—2006) belonged, like Orten, Blatný, and Kolář, to the great poets of the war generation, whose works could only be published intermittently and with great difficulty until 1989. In the late 1950s and 1960s, he was among the representatives of experimental poetry. From the 1970s, he returned to a traditional type of poetry, still focused on existential and civilizational issues with acute ethical questions. The edition of Juliš's poetry includes the poetry books "Progressive Discomfort," "The Landscape of Games," "The Awareness of Possibilities," "New Land," and "We Are Approaching the Fire." Edition and commentary by Michal Kosák.
