Description
The core of the scientific monograph is the short story collection Dvojí domov by Jan Čep. The analyses of individual stories then radiate out to the context of the 1920s and 1930s and to the entirety of Čep's work. Kubíček, through textual analysis, points to the connection between the poetics and aesthetics of Jan Čep's work with concepts such as modern literature, realism, ruralism, traditionalism, the Catholic ghetto, and the literary life of the First Republic. The book includes a complete bibliography of Jan Čep's works as well as secondary literature, which becomes the foundation for studying the changes in the reception of Čep's work.
