Description
A new beginning injects Fin Macleod with a fresh optimism. He has settled again on the Isle of Lewis in the Hebrides, where he once lived as a child. As a former police detective, he is hired by a local landowner as the head of security. For a man of Fin's experience, this should be an easy task. While investigating illegal activities occurring on the estate, he encounters the elusive local poacher Piskoř Macaskill, with whom he once went to school. But when Fin catches Piskoř poaching, both men become witnesses to a bizarre natural phenomenon, where a nearby lake spontaneously empties, revealing a small muddy plane with a familiar inscription on its side. Both men know what they will find inside — the body of their friend, musician Roddy Mackenzie, whose plane disappeared over seventeen years ago. When Fin sees something other than shock on Piskoř's face at the sight of Roddy's remains, a chilling premonition seizes him. Fin gradually uncovers Piskoř's secret, but he is far from prepared for the truth about the past that may also affect the future.
