Pán ohně – May Peter (2015)

A story of horrific murders connected by an even more horrifying secret. The first volume of a series of Chinese thrillers. Chinese detective Li Jen teams up with American forensic doctor Margaret Campbell to track down the murderer of a high-ranking government scientist, whose horrifyingly charred, smoldering corpse was found in a park in Beijing. On the night the scientist died, two other murders occurred, mysteriously linked to his death. Detective Li feels he must race against time and that this time his Chinese thoroughness will be of no help. Eventually, he reluctantly asks for Margaret's assistance, who is an experienced expert on burned victims. As they uncover layer after layer of the case, they reveal a truth that surpasses even their worst nightmares in its horror.
