Description
Legends, stories, and moral tales from Upper Haná. Who doesn't know the clever fox Bystrouška! What Těsnohlídek did for her fame through written stories among our people, Janáček achieved for her global recognition with his opera. Both creators situated the clever fox's action radius in a way that feels like 'a little home': the first in the Brno destination of the Bílovec valley, the second in his native Hukvaldy. In short, they both stole her! From whom? From Haná and the Hanáks! For there, in the hills above the meandering Morava, in the realm of the castles of Bouzov, Mírov, and Úsov, in the forests of Mohelnice at the solitary lodge of Střítež, Bystrouška grew up with gamekeeper Bartoš. That's where it all took place. Hence the 'stolen' legends. Just as Janáček and Těsnohlídek stole Bystrouška from the Hanáks, the author of this book decided to rob Shakespeare, the Mrštík brothers, London, or Vančura and, in return, transfer the events of well-known stories into the Haná dialect.
