In recent years, exceptionally strong themes with the potential to change society, international relations, and energy have emerged on the global, European, and Czech scenes. Their gradual arrival has been brutally overshadowed by the geopolitical and energy crisis caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. This is a turning point unprecedented in the last three decades and has the potential to transform the post-war order. Not only in Europe are there fundamental changes occurring in state relations and supply chains, as well as in climate policies, with a fundamental impact on the shape of energy sectors. ********** The basic thesis of the presented publication is the multidisciplinarity of energy security and its intersection with many state policies. The book addresses global and European events of recent years and their influence on European energy policy in its first two parts. The third part focuses on changes in the Czech Republic, not only in the area of Czech foreign policy towards Russia and the Eastern space but primarily in the area of the country's energy security.
