Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass Alice has much in common with Alenka; both are daughters of poets, both have been imbibing the mother's milk of poetry since birth. Therefore, it is no wonder: Alice, like Alenka, is enchanting, captivated, and wondrous. Who else but Alenka/Alice could see swans gliding in the waves of the parquet through the open doors into the living room, fish swimming beneath the escalators in Tesco, a cat observing its reflection in the window's mirror, a flock of white geese on the pavement of the big city, and a flight of birds scattered across the sky like stars, a deserted white horse on the plain of a bespectacled human face, stairs leading to the sun, and passages leading to other worlds? Alice sees them and allows us the pleasure of seeing them with her. Alice Prokopová (*1957) lives and works in Brno. She studied mathematics at the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University and psychology at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University, teaching at the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University. She has been engaged in photography since her studies, digital photography since 2003, and besides the LŠU, she completed photographic training at the Fotoškoly Brno, but primarily she is self-taught. Since 2005, she has held five solo exhibitions of photographs. She focuses on street photography and abstract photography.
