Deník haiku 5 – Čepelka Miloň (2025)

The latest Haiku Diary could say (and remind us of Karel Poláček): "There were five of us." We would like to hear any of them add the question: "And how many more will there be?"
No, let’s not be immodest. A quintet is a beautiful little orchestra. But let’s believe that it won’t stop there. After all, faith is omnipresent in Čepelka's haiku.
On the contrary, the number of women has again decreased, as even kissing cannot prevent the realization of where the world is rushing. However – although there are eyes that say nothing, hers invite him to the vineyards. And the author is not afraid to walk a narrow path, perhaps a gorge, as long as it’s with the lovely Terezka.
Those who can savor his haiku are not troubled by ideals crushed by time. They glimpse together with him into the mysteries prepared for us by the Serpent. And they understand that this creator does not belong to the flocks of poets who only long for their monument.
Yes, we can acknowledge that books are just countless freckles on the face of the world. But wouldn’t it be dull without freckles? Let’s be grateful that Miloň Čepelka has adorned the face of the world with a whole constellation of freckles.
It is a gift, not a given. A gift for us, that we can read his books and look forward to more. And a gift for him, that inspiration has not ceased to flock to him, not just in the form of haiku.
