Description
It is a summer evening in the year 1386, and Mikuláš Blatnický of Okrouhlá has just received news that a merchant caravan has been attacked on the border of his estate. His neighbor and friend Purkart of Ledvice rushed to the scene, but on the forest path, he found only the dead merchants. Their goods and armed escort had vanished without a trace. The bodies were transported to a nearby Dominican monastery, and as Brother Apothecary examined them, strange facts gradually came to light. Annual fairs begin in Krumlov, and many merchants and craftsmen are moving along the road beneath the castle. News of the attack spreads quickly through the area, and soon a representative of the regional governor appears in Okrouhlá to help investigate this brutal crime. The book loosely follows the second part of a historical trilogy, which was published in 2017 under the title Amber Heart. The Blatnický family of Okrouhlá remains, and the fates of its members once again unravel and then intertwine...
