Sometimes a woman simply manages to go for a very long time without writing anything. She lives, works, takes care of things, observes and thinks about everything she sees, hears and experiences. From time to time she comments on something inwardly or has an idea, but she is so busy that the stream of obligations carries those comments and ideas away. Yet she also laughs and dreams a great deal, doing so throughout her life and not only in her youth, as is little known. Above all, she keeps reading, because reading belongs to life like air. Then suddenly Mr Time graciously loosens the leash, or the reins, if you prefer, and she sits down at a keyboard that no longer serves only for work. All at once, her ideas, memories, feelings, dreams and humour flow onto the page, leaving even her surprised at where they had all been stored.
