Longtime editor, publisher, and conversation partner of Miloně Čepelka, Josef Pepson Snětivý, says about this publication, which is released for the eighty-seventh birthday of the versatile artist and co-founder of the Jára Cimrman Theatre: "I won’t be original when I say about Miloně Čepelka that he is a 'small big man.' And immediately a seeming contradiction comes to mind: despite his physical lightness, he does not float on the surface and does not settle for the foam of the day, but with a curiosity almost childlike and an insatiable desire, he dives into the depths, into the metaphorical water beneath the mentioned foam. That water is sometimes murky, sometimes surprisingly clear and pure, and then again 'ordinary' – but always alive. He himself is like that every time: as an actor, lyricist, playwright, poet, prose writer, and commentator. ***** In the latter role, he has already created two publications, and after the title 'Jump Here, Jump There,' he comes with the book 'Memories Fly.' I am glad that despite the verb 'fly,' the movement of memories, reflections, and observations is calm enough for him to capture it, and we can immerse ourselves in them. ***** This perceptive observer of both his own life and the fates of others does not convince us of his 'truth' and does not force us to believe him; rather, he puts things into context, offers alternatives, and lets everyone draw their own conclusions.
