Kyselé třešně – Chalupová Lenka (2020)

In the spring of 1944, a new teacher arrives at the small school in Lověšice, a small railway village near Přerov. The rural school means for Petr Skála not only getting to know the children but also their parents – especially the widow Lota Kiliánová, the mother of eight-year-old Helenka. Their budding relationship, as well as Helenka's tender childhood world and the loving environment of home, clash with the harsh reality of wartime and post-war days... Historical sources, records in chronicles, and the memories of witnesses – all of this helped the author write a gripping story based on true foundations.
