Description
The memories of Alžběta Sommerová Lefkovitsová capture the last war years of 1944-1945, during which the author and her closest family were afflicted by racial persecution due to their Jewish origin. Until the autumn of 1944, the family lived in Prešov relatively protected because Mrs. Lefkovitsová was a pharmacist by profession, thus falling into the category of so-called economically important Jews. After the suppression of the Slovak National Uprising, everything changed abruptly.
