Description
A satirical novel with detective and psychological elements depicts the mindset of powerful people who always focus primarily on themselves in their endeavors. A tragic event at a foreign embassy forces the Czech ambassador to have a conversation with a psychologist. However, the leading diplomat seizes the opportunity to not only defend his innocence but also his worldview in front of the young woman. Although the Russian invasion of Ukraine began shortly before the events under investigation, he shows a peculiar understanding of the Russian perspective and the way Russian interests are promoted through special services. The novel thus offers an unusually open insight into the diplomatic environment and the soul of an aging, tragicomic failure.
