Description
David Klimeš's utopia presents an alternative view of the history of the first half of the 21st century through the eyes of a young person from the future, comparing the story of his father with the official version. Vítek does not have a very good relationship with his father. However, he knows well how the authorities would react if he didn't take at least a little care of him. The relationship, full of boredom and emptiness, is broken by an unusual family exchange – the son can borrow his father's old leadership uniforms for his evening music shows, but for each loan, he must listen to or read a piece of the troubled history of the first half of the 21st century, which definitely does not match the official historiography. Familiar revolutionary dates flash before his eyes, but in completely different contexts than those memorized in schools. Vítek begins to doubt the previously uncontroversial state ideology of helping those in need. He naively thinks he can avoid a clash with the system and deliberately chooses a downward spiral in life. For whom and by what means could he still be significant? How wrong he is...
