Description
The theater and film artist Pavel Landovský is known in Czech culture not only as an actor but also as a successful playwright – his play The Hourly Hotelier became legendary in the home Činoherní klub, where Oldřich Nový excelled (1969; directed by Evald Schorm). Landovský's plays have not yet been published collectively in our country and are not available to the public, so this volume presents Landovský as a dramatist for the first time. The collection includes eight of the author's plays – A Case for the Village Policeman, The Hourly Hotelier, Superwoman, Night Line, Sanitary Night, Detour, Arrest, and For This Time We Will Get Rich, and it also contains a detailed list of productions. The book was published with financial support from the Literary Grant DILIA.
